We are changing the conversation about horror.
In a genre that is associated with a lack of invention and evolution, our mission is to transform horror and create a new era of wonderfully macabre and frightening tales that are told from a unique perspective: ours. We are imaginative, powerful, and we are breaking free to allow our voices to be finally heard.
Final Girl Press celebrates female identifying authors who struggle to have their stories told. Indigenous women, women of colour, women of every age and background are encouraged to take part in this journey.
Our editors understand that true horror is working with trauma, that our emotions and our sense of the world heightens our imagination and allows us to create stories that aren’t just shocking or grotesque, but ground-breaking and provocative. We value the female characters in our stories and see them as more than props on the receiving end of sexual or physical violence. Our stories are authored with intent. In every word, we demand that storytelling be a living, breathing entity—not a stagnant relic. We do not give in to genre tropes. We bury them.
We are waiting for you.
